The Ministry of Mines and Geology of Gabon has signed an agreement with the Japanese company Asia Mining Limited (AML Holdings) to establish manganese processing facilities in the country. These facilities are expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2029, with an annual processing capacity of 400,000 tons of manganese alloys.

The agreement stipulates the establishment of an AML Holdings subsidiary in Gabon to be responsible for the local transformation of manganese. This will help industrialize the mining industry and strengthen the country's economic sovereignty.The project is expected to create a large number of direct and indirect jobs and promote the development of Gabon's road and energy infrastructure.

The Ministry of Mines and Geology Resources of Gabon stated that this partnership has strengthened the economic and industrial ties between Gabon and Japan.
